Weekly Riddle

The police found a man dead under a car and it was discovered that the dead man was the last person the drive the car – even though it wasn’t his car. It was also discovered that he had died just an hour earlier, even though the the car was last driven six hours earlier. No one else was involved, and no crime committed. What happened?
